If you are considering custom plastic extrusion but unsure of whether it is right for you and your company, fear not; we'll take you through the six easy steps from the initial call right up to receiving your custom product.
The extrusion process
First things first, very few people know what plastic extrusion is. It's basically a combination of mixing, melting, extrusion, shaping and cooling. But if you're not familiar, we've compiled a handy guide to how the extrusion process works. We have been working with plastic extrusions for over 30 years so we know what we're talking about and can take you through the process from start to finish.
Custom extrusions in six simple steps
As mentioned, our process can be understood in six simple steps. Accredited with the Quality Management System ISO 9001 since the last century allows complete peace of mind from start to finish. We complete everything in-house so we can ensure the highest standards of quality are retained throughout.
The first step is calling our number: our advisers are available on 01208 873566 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm but our team works 24h to ensure that your order is with you on time. Here's a guide to what will happen next:
Step 1: Advice and Quotation
Expert advice will be provided and we will co-operate with you to ensure the finished product meets your specification. A production drawing will be created, including agreed tolerances, which we will send you for approval.
Step 2: In-house Tooling
In-house tooling means that tools can be developed or modified quickly and we have complete control over quality.
Step 3: Trials to Ensure Requirements are met
We’re not only concerned with the process; we care about your satisfaction with the final. Therefore we carefully check every part of the newly produced product tooling to make sure it meets your exact requirements.
Step 4: Samples Sent for Approval
Before we start the main production run, we will send you samples for approval so that modifications can be made if necessary. Our service is geared to you at all times.
Step 5: Production Stage
Most extrusion companies outsource their tooling, so as we produce everything onsite our turnaround on production continuously beats the industry norm. We also manufacture 24 hours a day to ensure you get your order on time.
Step 6: Delivery to Your Business
We will despatch your goods to the required destination or you may arrange collection using your own delivery company. It's up to you!
