1. What type of plastic are our flat bar strips manufactured from?
We offer flat bar strips in two different types of PVC. The most popular is rigid PVC flat bar strip, this is an external PVC grade which means it can be used either for indoor or outdoor applications. This type of PVC is rigid like a ruler and is sold in 75 metre packs, each pack containing 25 x 3 metre lengths. For some of the sizes they may flex over a 3 metre length.
We also have a smaller range of flexible PVC flat bar strips. These are for internal applications and they are sold in 75 metre packs. Each pack contains 3 x 25 metre coils. This is a soft rubberised type of PVC and is very different to the rigid version, so we advise you to request samples of each type to check for suitability.
2. What colours are available for flat bar strips?
All the flat bar strips listed on our online shop are available in the colours white and black, and they are sold in 75 metre packs. If you require a different colour this is possible for larger quantities. Just get in touch with us specifying the RAL number and the product code, we will then email you a quote for custom production. For custom plastic extrusion the minimum is 2000 metres.
3. What is the delivery timescale for our flat bar strips?
If the flat bar strips you selected are in stock, they are dispatched the day we receive the order, as long as the order is received before 4pm. Delivery is usually made the next working day, but it does depend on the postcode. However delivery is not guaranteed as it depends on the carrier company, so we allow an extra day just in case there are any issues.
If the goods are out of stock they will need to be manufactured, which we do ourselves in our UK factory. Delivery would be by the date specified during the order process. This date is also shown on your order email confirmation. This obviously takes a little longer, but we work 24 hours during the week to ensure that goods are dispatched as soon as possible. The ‘delivery by’ date changes according to the length of our production queue at the time your order is placed.
4. Are samples available for flat bar strips?
Yes, you can request free samples for flat bar strips. Simply email [email protected] with your address and the product codes of the plastic profiles you are interested in. We will then post you the samples. The samples are pre-cut and are approximately 10 – 15cm in length. This will allow you to check the profile dimensions and colour. We don’t have any offcuts to provide longer samples.
5. What sizes are flat bar strips available in?
We have a large range of plastic flat bars trips which are all listed on our online shop. The narrowest width is 6mm and the widest is 142mm, and there are a large number of sizes in between. Likewise, there are many different thicknesses. The smallest thickness is 1.5mm and the largest is 27mm. The online shop shows the price for all the sizes and this is where orders should be placed.
