Plastic U channel

Plastic U channel trim is one of our most popular extruded PVC profiles. U shaped plastic trim is used in many different applications across a wide range of industries. The reason it is often called U channel is because it has three sides and is a similar shape to the letter U. However the three sides on the plastic channel are straight with ninety-degree right angles, there are no curves. Plastic U channel has one open side which allows a board or panel to be inserted. Among other sizes, it is available in 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 20mm, 25mm and 50mm.
Plastic U channels are just one of the many plastic profiles we offer, you can view our stock plastic extrusions to see the complete range of ‘off the shelf’ extruded plastic profiles.

U shaped plastic trim video

Here is a short video about our range of plastic U channel trim on our YouTube channel, which is presented by our Production manager. The video includes a demonstration of plastic U channel being used to edge a board where the edges are rather unsightly and damaged. Covering edges with U shaped plastic trim makes for a much neater finish and reduces the risk of injury from splinters. As you can see from the video we offer many different sizes so you will have a good chance of finding the correct size for your project. Please let us know if you would like to receive short samples of PVC channel in the post to check suitability for your own needs.

Many sizes of PVC channel

We currently have 35 different sizes of plastic channel. They are manufactured in an external grade rigid PVC which makes them suitable for outside use as well as for interiors. The smallest PVC channel has an internal width of 2.5mm and the largest has an internal width of 50mm. The internal width would be the same as the board size of whatever you are putting into the open side of the plastic U channel. Our range of U channel trim allows them to be used with a large variety of board sizes, and there are also a variety of overall product thicknesses ranging from 1.5mm to 3mm.
As we have so many shapes and sizes, we wrote a blog on how to choose the correct plastic profile for your project. We wrote this blog specifically for our plastic angles, but most of the blog also applies to plastic U channels.
You are very welcome to get in touch if you require samples of PVC channel to help you decide which size of PVC U channel trim is suitable for you.

Plastic U channel trim – available colours

We offer plastic U channel trim in two of the most frequently used colours as part of our extensive range of stock plastic profiles. These colours are white plastic channels and black plastic channels. Our packs of U channel are sold in complete packs of 75 metre on our online shop. Each pack of plastic U channel contains 25 X 3 metre lengths.
We can also manufacture plastic U channel trim in other colours but this would require a custom production run so there is a minimum meterage of around 2000 metres, depending on the size of the required U channel trim. We can colour match to a sample provided by yourself or can manufacture to a specific RAL colour. Please contact us for a quote if you require a different colour of plastic U channel trim in this quantity.

Plastic capping channel

Plastic U channels can be used for many different applications. The most popular application is to use plastic U trim as a capping channel. PVC capping channel is demonstrated in this short video. Our Production Manager uses plastic capping channel to edge a damaged board to give it a neat and professional finish. If you select the correct size of plastic capping channel, one that has the correct internal width for your board size, it will easily slide onto the board you are using. Plastic capping channel will cover damaged, uneven and unsightly edges and can greatly reduce the risk of splinters for the areas it is covering.

PVC U channel – made in Britain

Everything on our online shop, including plastic channels, is manufactured in our British factory. Our line shop allows us to sell products in our stock range to the UK market offering fast delivery. We manufacture a very large range of plastic trims in our factory and use a carrier company to get them delivered to our customers across the UK. As we sell direct this helps to keep the price you pay as competitive as possible because there are no suppliers or distributors involved in our sales process.
If you are buying PVC channel using our online shop, the checkout page will indicate the delivery timescale. This applies to most UK postcodes, with a few exceptions for locations including the far north of Scotland and offshore islands where an additional few days should be allowed.
